my brother's christmas gift

WHERE DO WE GO WHEN WE DIE.......

INTO THE CAVE
THE WOMB OF THE MOTHER
MASKS REMOVED
EYES TO BE SEEN
OUR FACE SWIPED CLEAN
BY NO MAN
NO RELIGION
THE WINGS ON TIME
BORROW OUR SPIRIT
A FEATHER IN THE WIND
DIRTIED WATER
PURIFIED AGAIN
BY MOTHER NATURES SUN

I got "EXPERIENCED" with Jimi Hendrix......

Funny how as a teenager , I would save face an say I liked or Disliked certain Music
without even really giving a listen.
Being one that had a big toe in all the groups of kids....
Not specifically "IN" one group but apart of many......
wether they be the disco skaters on the weekends
standing on the corner with the punks at lunch
or surrounded by the jocks and cheerleaders as a High School football manager
learning how to study with the Smart Geeks (because cheating wasn;t an option anymore)
each group maintained their stance in the specific genre of music that matched their :label:

My step dad always ~had this tiny radio in the Kitchen ~set to 102.7
in the car too! I grew up listening to all his classic vinyl
He had it all ~the Turtles, Chuck Berry, the Rolling Stones
Cream , YES, The Doors, The Allman Brothers, Greatful Dead thru to
Led Zeppelin!!!

And everyother weekend hanging with my Dad,
it was Vivaldi, Bob Marley, Mozart, Bob Seager,The Moody Blues,
Donna Summer and Pink Floyd.

I have to say Roller Skating at The Roxy, everyweekend,
had me living in love with The true Funk Masters like
Parliament `Funkadelic, James Brown an of course
Michael Jackson. Somehow Pink Floyd slipped in at the rink as well,,,,,
and I would always ask which one is Pink....
Later on,, found out that was an actual lyric
and they became my highschool favorite band.

Because you see ~I got
"Comfortably Numb" with Pink Floyd~
"Experienced" with Jimi Hendrix~
"Dazed and Confused" with Led Zep~
I went down to the
"CrossRoads" with Cream
and had to
"Paint It Black" with the RollingStones
after
I flew like a
"Free Bird"with Lynyrd Skynyrd.....
 I got stuck at the
"Hotel California" with the Eagles.
There was only
"One Way Out"with the Allman Brothers
cause G-d Only Knows
I couldn;t just
"Let It Be" with the Beatles
or
I could Get caught in a
"RoundAbout " with Yes
and always wonder
how to be
"Happy Together" with the Turtles.

My father sat me inbetween his two little speakers
attached to his cassette deck player
blasting the Beatles when I was two,
I've read that the brains' strutcture changes if one studies a stringed
instrument.....
I am curious , if the same thing occurs for brains that listen to music
at a very young age?!!......

All I know is that Music is my balance in life. It validates my feelings, helps me
thru rough emotional times. Conjures and eliminates , quells and ignites,
like soaking your soul in warm water. My Life wouldn;t be complete without my music.
I could Play this Music word game with titles all day long~
I barely touched the Ice
The whole Jazz scene, Zappa, the 80's scene ~ I mean I could go on an on ~ maybe
for another time!!!! And WOW.>>>>the Music of recent days.... Van Halen has just
entered a new found appreciation not to mention Violent Soho from Brisbane or
The Black Keys, The yeah yeah yeahs, Queens of the Stone Age, SOTD,  oh man
I could just go on about Jack White..... perhaps another time.

Thanks For sharing with me And my nutty thoughts~
